Why be involved in a Corporate Health & Wellness Program?

The people you employ can be your greatest asset, building your business to levels that you could not achieve on your own by providing ideas, direction and growth.

Or sometimes not!

Escalating insurance / medical costs, absenteeism, stress leave, low productivity, growing staff turnover costs, low morale, etc can make employees seem less than an asset.

In any case having an asset in which its potential is under-utilised is not good business sense. So what is the answer to maximising your bottom line and receiving a positive return on investment through looking after your greatest asset?

How do you help your people look after themselves and in turn look after you?

Personal Best provides a Corporate Health & Wellness (CHW) Program that will have positive benefits for the people and organisation involved. A Corporate Health & Wellness Program positively affects profitability through attracting, utilising and keeping the right talent and having them work to their potential.

Being involved in a CHW Program has far reaching benefits to all organisations - large, small and all in between. It can positively affect your bottom line through these ways:

• Through increased efficiency, motivation, concentration and productivity through a reduction of errors at work. These factors all contribute to improved time management

• Aids the retention of current staff and the recruitment of new talent. Staff morale is positively affected reducing absenteeism. The image of the organisation is enhanced and perceived as one who values the employees - by those inside and outside its employment. Staff loyalty will improve and your company is perceived as a good corporate citizen

• Both team building skills and individual achievements result from a Corporate Health & Wellbeing Program

The positive Return on Investment

After implementing a Corporate Health Wellness program companies have experienced the following return on investment

• Motorola - $3.15 for every dollar invested.

• PepsiCo - $3 for every dollar invested

• Johnson and Johnson – 30% ROI

• Blackmores – “the company recorded a significant reduction in sick leave the year the gym was introduced” (Sydney Morning Herald, March 1987)

Exercise Programming

Each persons program needs to be individual in order to meet their specific requirements and goals. We take great pride in accomplishing this so as individuals can gain maximum benefits. Together with staff whom we employ as required, we can prescribe exercise for all populations. Exercise prescription will be done in consultation with doctors and or physiotherapists when required.

After each client’s initial assessment and program, regular checks will be made to assess progress together with satisfaction of their exercise program. In doing so, education and motivation will be on-going.

Stress Management- Massage, Stretch and Yoga Classes

WORK PLACE MASSAGE YOU SAY…….

Yes, that’s correct. Our massage therapist will come into your work environment and perform seated massage, right there at your desk for you and your colleagues.

As you are working assiduously at your desk throughout the day, looking at that small computer screen, typing on the keyboard feverishly, feeling your shoulders tighten, your neck get tired and then you feel the strength of a therapeutic touch on the tension points. Ah yes, it’s that day again when you have 15 minutes of tension relief from the massage therapist who comes around to your office!

A 15 minute Neck and Shoulder Massage is performed on all those in the office wanting them. They stay fully clothed, and can be done in a designated room or at their own work desk.

AND GUESS WHAT, there are huge benefits to this wonderful service.

Not only will you feel good, BUT ALSO your muscles will relax, anxiety levels decrease, job stress levels decrease, blood flow is increased to the brain and staff morale and focus is improved.

PLUS………….

Research has shown that absenteeism is reduced, and productivity is increased when work place massage is performed on individuals. That is a huge positive effect to you, your colleagues and the business.

Also, Workers Compensation claims can be limited as you can receive feedback and advice on individual conditions before they are aggravated.

Personal Best can also arrange Yoga and Stretch classes. These can take place either in the workplace or one of our facilities. These are particularly beneficial to those in desk bound professions.

Fitness Equipment Purchasing / Corporate Fitness Centre Design and Development

The trend for organisations to set up their own equipment room or even fitness centre for employee use is continuing. Personal Best has long standing relationships with leading fitness equipment manufacturers. This coupled with experience in setting up various studios and gyms assures confidence in recommendations made. We can recommend purchases, design the floor areas and provide project management of the undertaking.

Equipment Maintenance Checks

In compliance with Workplace Health and Safety standards, some equipment requires specialised servicing approximately every 3 months. This will be arranged with the company providing the equipment.

Centre Supervision

We will provide suitably trained staff to supervise the fitness area as required.

Networks

We have a strong network of affiliations and resources within the Health and Fitness field. Our network ranges from medical and health personnel, educators and equipment providers to references and journals.

How will it be right for us?

We will work with your expected outcomes to create the most suitable program for your requirements. Our proposals are based on the outcomes of a needs analysis and your budget.

Information from the needs analysis will enable us to implement an effective operation. Other information will:

• Identify management goals (long term), motives and health goals (short term).

• Identify any health problems. These problems can then be assessed, targeted and treated with specific health and fitness programs.

• Identify other avenues / resources that the workplace has available.

• Identify a target group. This will enable us to suggest appropriate measures.

• Identify the commitment of employees. This will indicate the number of willing employees that are interested and those that may require further encouragement.
